The Landrace Team (TLT) is a cannabis seed seller that runs the website tltseeds.com. It sells seed of lines named after countries, regions and villages, and crosses of its own under the heading Creations. In 2024 it also sold hemp cultivars.[1] Its home page states the aim "to preserve, reproduce and distribute the finest examples from around the world, from sativas to indicas", and carries the line "Saving the future of cannabis by preserving its past."[2]
Members
The site's About Us page carries three personal statements signed M., A. and D. The statement signed A. dates an interest in cannabis to 1999 in Colombia and to a local line called Mango Biche from the south of San Agustín, and describes collecting seed from the flowers that passed through the writer's hands. The statement ends: "Currently part of the M.A.D. group part of The Landrace Team seedbank". D. dates a first indoor grow to a couple of years after 1993 and writes of collecting genetics from around the world, "often thanks to the generosity of friends who returned from their travels with a few seeds". M. writes of an interest in landraces for making extracts, and of travel to collect "local plants, grown by local farmers".[1]
Catalogue
In October 2024 the site's menu listed 207 lines under 11 headings: Africa, Central Asia, South Asia, South East Asia, Far East Asia, the Middle East, South America, the South West Pacific Ocean, Autoflowering, Hemp and Creations. The South East Asia heading held 46 of them, among them lines from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.[1] In October 2026 the menu carried the same headings except Hemp.[2]
TLT sells six lines from the Philippines. It says that Kalinga comes from Kalinga province, and calls Buscalan Kalinga and Violeta Kalinga domesticates from Buscalan. It lists Kibungan under the name of the municipality of Kibungan, and names the origin of Lagkitan "Ubec", a word it takes to mean Cebu. It sells Baguio Gold under the name "Baguio Gold (Philippines)".[3][4][5][6][7][8] One of its Creations crosses a line from Uzbekistan with Lagkitan.[1]
Delicorganic
TLT sells lines it calls Kalamata Red and Crete, and credits their sourcing to the Greek grower Delicorganic; in July 2026 the Kalamata Red listing read "Sourcing: Delicorganic's Greek landrace collection". It calls Delicorganic "our member, bio-grower/breeder".[9][10][11] TLT's account places the family that grew Kalamata Red in the village of Alagonia, in Messenia, Greece.[11] In December 2025 Delicorganic wrote on a forum that The Landrace Team did not have Kalamata Red.[12]
Reception
Since 2020, posters on the forums ICMag, Rollitup and Overgrow have alleged that TLT sells lines obtained from collectors and other breeders without credit or permission.[13] Some said that part of the seed came from their own reproductions or had been sought under other names.[14] In April 2026 the seed producer ATAO Genetics said it believed that TLT's Mazar-i Sharif came from a strawberry-scented line ATAO had been selecting since 2009; TLT's listing calls Mazar-i Sharif a landrace from the Balkh region of Afghanistan.[15][16][17] Several TLT listings name a source, such as the Russian Landrace Bureau.[18] Some posters who object to its sourcing call the seed genuine.[19]
In August 2020 TLT's Pakistan 1975 listing gave a breeder's account of a research programme at the University of British Columbia; by the end of October a description of the line's resin and colours had replaced it.[20][21] Two posters wrote that TLT changed its listings within a day of their questions, in 2021 and 2023.[22] Posters have also said that TLT used photographs taken by others.[23] Of one disputed line, Llanera, TLT told a buyer that a member of the team had collected it in Colombia.[24][25]
Buyers' reports of their orders are mixed. Some describe parcels that did not arrive, seed that failed and was not replaced, mislabelled seed and poor packaging;[26] others describe quick replies, replacements and lines true to their descriptions.[27] The listings carry no prices,[17][25] and posters have called them high.[28]
