Colombian Gold Highland 2024 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that The Landrace Team (TLT) sells as Colombian Gold Highland, one of the names covered by Santa Marta Gold. TLT calls it the "Original Santa Marta Gold Highland" and the most legendary of the classic Colombian lines, and says that the herb came from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, in the north of Colombia.[1]
History
TLT ties the line's fame to the marimbera bonanza, between the 1970s and the mid-1980s, when Colombian cannabis was exported in large amounts. It says that the herb left the Sierra Nevada from places such as Tayrona beach.[1] TLT disputes the claim that the large crops in the mountains were grown by the indigenous peoples of the Sierra, and calls it a marketing story.[1]
The earliest archived capture of TLT's own page for the line was made on 28 May 2024.[2]
Growth
TLT puts the vegetative stage at 16 to 20 weeks and flowering at 16 to 22 weeks or longer, and the height at 1.8 to 2.5 m. It describes loose, resinous flowers with large, pointed calyxes that turn light gold and white late in flowering in some phenotypes, thin and very serrated leaves, one upright phenotype with mostly three-leaflet leaves, and seven phenotypes in all.[1]
Aroma and effects
TLT lists aromas of sweet and sour lime, pungent mandarin, incense, fruit, tangerine and mountain papaya (Vasconcellea pubescens), and also of gulupa, and a taste of citrus, incense and roses. It calls the effect psychoactive, euphoric, very potent and cerebral, "lysergic to psychedelic", and clean.[1]
