Mango Biche 2019 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that The Landrace Team (TLT) sells as Mango Biche, under the Colombian name mango biche. TLT calls it a southern Colombian variety from the department of Huila, grown by local farmers, and says that it was "Personally collected at source".[1]
History
TLT says that a collector gathered the line in the 1990s "from the hands of local peasants from the 60s, 70s", that it has been kept at 1,500 m since then, and that it is offered to the public only through TLT. It says that the "true" Mango Biche was grown in the Colombian massif, at 1,400 to 1,800 m, until about fifteen years before its listing. Where it can still be found, TLT says, it now shows indica genes and many intersex plants, damaged by inbreeding, as Dutch and hybrid seed has replaced the slower local varieties.[1]
The line is one of three Colombian lines in the South America section of the menu of TLT's website in an archived capture of 16 September 2019, the earliest found that names it.[2]
Growth
TLT puts the vegetative stage at 16 to 20 weeks, flowering at 15 to 18 weeks and sometimes 20, and the height at 3 to 4 m or more. It describes conical, symmetrical plants, some with red or scarlet stems and leaf stalks, large thin serrated leaves of five, seven and nine bright light green leaflets, and one phenotype with purple-green calyxes late in flowering. It says that the plants resist continuous rain, pests and fungi.[1]
Aroma and effects
TLT describes an aroma of sweet green mango, and one phenotype that is more pungent with a mango background. It calls the effect clear, cerebral, euphoric, active and long-lasting, and in some cases "psychedelic and lysergic".[1]
