Kalinga 2019 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that The Landrace Team (TLT) offers under the name Kalinga. TLT calls it a landrace from the north of the Philippines and says that it comes directly from Kalinga province, from a local Filipino grower.[1]

Geography

TLT places the line in Kalinga province, at a latitude of 17° N. It says that the plants are grown by native farmers in isolated highland locations.[1]

Collection Details

The specification on TLT's listing reads: "Genetics: Landrace from Northern Philippines Origin: Kalinga province Source: Local Filipino grower."[1]

Cultivation Details

TLT says that the line matures from mid-October through November. It recommends starting plants grown indoors on a 12/12 photoperiod, and puts the vegetative stage at 10, 12 or 14 weeks and flowering at 12 to 14 weeks.[1]

Botanical Characteristics

TLT describes tall, vigorous, fast-growing and strongly sativa-dominant plants that resist extreme drought and humidity, with green phenotypes and a purple-green one. It describes a conical structure with long internodes and leaves of five, seven and nine bright green leaflets. Some plants develop asymmetrical branches; others carry long floral clusters, with a main cola of 80 cm or more. It puts the height at 2.5 to 3 m or more outdoors. One phenotype, which TLT calls the earliest, has purple calyx tips and the thinnest leaflets.[1]

Aroma

TLT describes aromas of watermelon, melon and sweet lime, and says that the smoke has a woody flavour and a subtle sweet and sour aroma.[1]

Effects

TLT calls the effect clear, clean and long-lasting, and as cerebral, euphoric and active.[1]
