Coco Genes, also written CocoGenes and also known as Collector's Collective, sold cannabis seed collected in India. It ran the website cocogenes.com, which carried the name Collector's Collective. It also ran a store on the seed marketplace Strainly under the name CocoGenes.[1][2] A "Find Us" panel on the site listed two offices: Southern California for distribution in the United States and India as headquarters.[3] The seed company Khalifa Genetics credits the business, under several of these names, with collecting the seed of three of its lines.[4][5][6]

Names

The site's WordPress configuration gave its name as "Collector's Collective" and its description as "Rare and unique collection of hand-picked seed varietals."[1] The homepage title carried the name "Collector's Collective" in captures of February 2021 and June 2022 and read "Coco Genes" in captures of October 2023 and December 2024. The image at the head of the page was labelled "Collector's Collective" in all four.[7][8][9][10] The About page calls the business "Collectors collective genes". The Strainly store signs itself "Coco Genes a.k.a Collectors Collective".[11][2] Khalifa Genetics uses four forms on its own pages: "Coco Genes", "Collector’s Collective (Coco Genes)", "Collector Collective Genes" and "Collectors Collectives Genes".[4][5][6][12]

Collections

The About page describes the business as collecting "rare and endangered plant varieties" and also selling Indian handicrafts.[11] In October 2023 the shop listed 27 products as landrace seeds, alongside categories of accessories and of health and wellness goods.[9] The archived product pages describe seed from the following places.

Two further products, both labelled LandraceWarden, were seed from Balochistan: one from Quetta and one from a sandy high-altitude desert.[37][18] Another product was seed gathered during the 2019 Kumbh Mela.[38]

The Grahan Village seed was "collected during winter 2019 expedition" and the Kerala stock came from "the new 2020 drop".[16][29] The site filed other products under "2020 Season" and "2021 season".[17][21] Several pages credit named collectors: plantlover77 for three lines from Maharashtra and Rob Stone, also written RobStone and Robstoned, for Lapash, Mahoot and Nadar.[30][31][32][21][22][23] The Uttarkashi page describes its seed as "collected in the wild".[24] The page for Sister Villages : Kalga 2021 says that its images "are from a reproduction run from the 2020 seeds done by @safeeakhfarms in California climates".[39]

Khalifa Genetics and other sellers

Khalifa Genetics writes that "Our friend at Coco Genes collected the seeds directly at source" for its Rasol Village line and that they are "from the 2018 harvest". The same sentences appear in the earliest archived copy of the page, from December 2019.[4][40] It credits the Collector's Collective with obtaining Kerala Chellakutti from local farmers in Kerala. It credits a member of the "Collector Collective Genes" with collecting "The first generation" of its Kullu Valley line.[5][6]

Resellers of Rasol Village describe the seed on sale in two ways. Mandala Seeds calls it "1st-generation seeds collected directly by Coco Genes at source".[41] ACE Seeds says that the Khalifa team "performed a controlled open pollination (indoors)" and labels the seed P2.[42] In an April 2020 post on the forum International Cannagraphic Magazine (ICMag), the member dubi explained why ACE Seeds had begun to offer Indian seed from Khalifa Genetics and Indian Landrace Exchange. The post says that the Indian seed bred by Khalifa Genetics is "P2, P3, etc".[43] A resale listing on Strainly, created in August 2026, offers Rasol Village seed "Aquired from coco genes".[44]

Online shops

The Strainly store showed 17 open listings in a capture of January 2021 and none on 18 September 2026.[45][2] The capture of the homepage made on 10 February 2025 records the message "Access denied."[46]
