Coco Genes describes the seed as collected during "the holy Kumbh Mela 2019 celebration", blessed by sadhus and given a ritual dip in the sacred "sangam" during the "shahi snan", inside a sealed box.[1] An "Additional information" table on the listing names the source as "Aghori Baba, Bhapu Baba".[1] Coco Genes describes such seed generally as passed down from guru to disciple, in some cases over multiple centuries.[1]
