Kullu Valley is a landrace cannabis accession from villages east of the town of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India, collected by Coco Genes and sold under the name Kullu Valley by the seed company Khalifa Genetics.[1][2]
Geography
Khalifa Genetics' blog places the line's origin as growing "near the small villages up in the Mountains east of Kullu".[1] Neither the blog nor the product listing names a specific village, a district subdivision or a coordinate.
Collection
Khalifa Genetics credits the collection to "a member of the Indian 'Collector Collective Genes'", who collected the seeds, described explicitly as "The first generation", directly at source.[2] "Collector Collective Genes" is one of several names Coco Genes' own site and its resellers use for the business, alongside "Collector's Collective" and "Coco Genes" itself.[2]
Botanical Characteristics
Khalifa Genetics describes the line as "an elegant, slender and vigorous Sativa with great resistance to mold", growing very tall unless trained, with a long flowering time.[2] It states the plant is "a semi-wild variety that is extremely easy to clone" and that cuttings usually root in under a week.[2] For flowering, the listing recommends giving plants "only 11 hours of light for 13 hours of darkness from the very beginning", adding that under a 24-hour light schedule the plant can revert to vegetative growth within three weeks even late in flowering.[2] The listing describes the aroma as "a subtle blend of Anise, culinary herbs and spices, reminiscent of the best Indian dishes" and the effect, despite a medium THC level, as "surprisingly strong… mostly a cerebral high which stimulates the mind".[2]
