Cannabis plants found in chilli plantation at Cinta Rakyat in Karo

Satresnarkoba Polres Tanah Karo uncovered 33 cannabis plants growing inside a chilli plantation at Julun Tapin, Desa Cinta Rakyat, Merdeka district, on 7 February 2026. Detik reported plants of 35 to 110 cm with a combined wet weight of 1,200 g. A 27-year-old local farmer, identified as KS, admitted the planting and showed officers the site. Police chief AKBP Pebriandi Haloho said he faces charges under Articles 111 and 114 of the 2009 Narcotics Law.
