The Thalpathe Piliyam (තල්පත් පිළියම්, "Palm-leaf Remedies") is a twenty-one-volume compilation of traditional medical formulae published by the Department of Ayurveda of the Government of Sri Lanka, beginning in 1992. The series transcribes and organises drug formulations recorded on ola leaf (palm-leaf) manuscripts donated by families of traditional medicine practitioners. Twenty volumes are in Sinhala; the twenty-first is in Tamil. The first volume was published with financial and technical support from the World Health Organization.

The series is the largest published collection of Sri Lankan indigenous medical formulae{{cn|reason=was cited to an unwritten 2026 field report; needs a published source}} and contains at least 267 formulations that include Cannabis sativa as a measured ingredient, with a further 13 using it as a grinding medium. These formulations treat conditions across the gastrointestinal, nervous, circulatory, reproductive and respiratory systems, prepared most commonly as pills (guli), pastes (kalka) and decoctions (kashaya). Cannabis is used at low concentrations: 63% of formulations contain 5% or less by ingredient weight. read more →

Comparison of self-pollination and intercrossing for feminized seed production in Thai Hang Kra Rok cannabis (Cannabis sativa L.) landrace

Compares selfing with intercrossing for producing feminized seed from two Thai landrace accessions of Hang Kra Rok cannabis, one from Bangkok and one from Sakon Nakhon. Female cuttings were treated with colloidal silver to induce male flowers, and the progeny were grown in a plant factory with artificial lighting. Both selfed lines and the Sakon Nakhon by Bangkok cross gave 100% female plants, while the reciprocal cross produced one hermaphrodite (5.6%). Dry inflorescence weight did not differ between treatments, and the Bangkok selfed line had the highest THC content at 6.58%. The plants were grown under artificial light, so the chemistry is not field chemistry.
