Oplan Ultimate Grasscutter destroys 6,300 marijuana plants across 11 sites in Bakun, Kapangan, Kibungan

A two-day cannabis eradication drive conducted under "Oplan Benguet Ultimate Grasscutter" on 18 and 19 April 2026 uncovered 11 plantation sites across the Benguet municipalities of Bakun, Kapangan, and Kibungan. Authorities uprooted 6,300 fully grown plants and seized 84,370 grams of dried leaves with fruiting tops. The combined value was reported at ₱24.7 million. The operation was led by Benguet Police Provincial Office officer-in-charge Col. Ledon Monte with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera regional office. All plants and dried material were documented and burned on site, with samples retained for laboratory examination. This is the first reported operational output from Oplan Ultimate Grasscutter since its 25 February 2026 launch.
