Police destroy 5,200 marijuana plants at Sitio Nagawa in Sugpon

Inquirer reported that the 1st Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Ilocos Sur police provincial office destroyed 5,200 marijuana plants across three sites totalling about 550 square metres at Sitio Nagawa in Barangay Caoayan, Sugpon, on 11 September 2026. The provincial director, Colonel Agosto Asuncion, put the value of the plants at about 1.04 million pesos. No arrests were reported. The operation is separate from the larger joint eradication carried out on the provincial boundary the preceding two days.
