Police destroy ₱2.2M marijuana plantation in Loreto, Agusan del Sur

The Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office, with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other provincial police units, destroyed a cannabis plantation at Sitio Bagtok, Barangay Kasapa 1, Loreto, Agusan del Sur on 17 April 2026. Authorities uprooted 11,000 mature plants and 300 seedlings across an approximately 15,000-square-metre site in upland terrain. The seized material was valued at more than ₱2.2 million at standard drug price. ADSPPO Director Col. Yahya Bustamante Yusup identified the alleged cultivator only by the alias "Gusion," described as a local farmer who remained at large at the time of reporting. Yusup credited community support for the discovery and eradication of the site.
