Bareskrim and Nagan Raya police destroy 25 hectares of cannabis at eight sites in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang

Antara reported that a team from the criminal investigation agency of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri), with personnel of the Aceh regional police, Polres Nagan Raya and the Batalyon C Pelopor of the Aceh Mobile Brigade, destroyed cannabis on about 25 hectares in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang, Nagan Raya, between 19 and 24 June 2025. According to the Nagan Raya police chief, AKBP Benny Bathara, the team found eight fields: five in Blang Meurandeh village of 2, 4, 5, 2 and 3 hectares, and three in Kuta Teungoh village of 4, 2 and 3 hectares. He estimated about 40,000 plants a hectare, some one million plants weighing about 200 tonnes in all. The operation followed the arrest of two suspects, one from North Aceh and one from Central Aceh, who said the cannabis they had carried came from Blang Meurandeh.
