Farmer arrested after 29 cannabis plants found in palm-oil plot in South Tapanuli

Polres Tapanuli Selatan arrested a 45-year-old farmer, identified as AN, after finding 29 cannabis plants growing among oil palms on a smallholding at Desa Sihuik-huik, Angkola Selatan district, on 11 November 2025. Wahana News reported that the plants were intercropped inside the palm plot. According to the report the offence carries a statutory maximum of 20 years under the 2009 Narcotics Law.
