Bareskrim destroys 51.75 hectares of cannabis across 26 sites in Gayo Lues

Bareskrim Polri's narcotics directorate destroyed cannabis fields totalling 51.75 hectares across 26 sites in Gayo Lues regency, Aceh, on 14 November 2025. The fields lay inside Gunung Leuser National Park, spread across the Blangkejeren, Putri Betung and Pining districts. The investigation began with the arrest of two suspects in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, the day before, who were carrying 47 kg of cannabis. Police said growers floated dried bagged cannabis downriver to waiting couriers, who packaged it by the kilo for distribution.
