Rasol is a landrace cannabis accession collected by Coco Genes at Rasol village in the Parvati Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India, from the 2018 harvest.[1][2] Coco Genes sells seed from this collection directly, and Khalifa Genetics and its resellers separately sell seed from the same collection under the same name; because sources disagree on whether that retail seed was processed further before sale, it is documented as a separate accession at 2018 COC Rasol Reproduction.
Geography
Neither Coco Genes' own listing nor Khalifa Genetics' reseller page names a district or gives a coordinate. Khalifa's page places the line in context rather than stating a location outright: it compares the "Rasoli landrace" to "many other cultivars from the Parvati Valley" and calls Rasol "much less touristy than neighboring Malana", implying without directly stating that Rasol lies in the Parvati Valley near Malana.[2] An earlier, unrelated Overgrow thread about this line briefly named "the Nepalese Himalayan village of Rasol", which a more experienced forum member corrected: "Rasol is a village in Parvati Valley, neighbouring Malana - India, in other words."[3] See the talk page for the full discrepancy.
Collection
Coco Genes' own listing describes the line only in general terms: "Rasol Village is famous for pure Himalayan ancestral Landrace cannabis plants. Naturally Growing in this remote village for centuries, these plants offer good resistance to cold and humidity."[1] It states the package sold "contains 20 plus seeds. Handpicked from the Village."[1] Khalifa Genetics, which also sells seed from this collection, states that "Our friend at Coco Genes collected the seeds directly at source. These are from the 2018 harvest."[2] The same two sentences appear unchanged in the earliest capture of Khalifa's page, from December 2019.[4] Khalifa adds that "a percentage of each sale of Rasol seed pack is used to help the people of India preserve their Landraces."[2]
What, if anything, was done to this collected seed before Khalifa Genetics and its resellers offered it for sale is described differently by different sellers; see 2018 COC Rasol Reproduction and its talk page for the full discrepancy.
