PR Bari Police destroys over 6,000 ganja saplings at Ghosh Khamar, Lake Para, South Tripura

On Monday 20 November 2023, a PR Bari Police Station-led joint operation destroyed over 6,000 premature cannabis saplings at the Ghosh Khamar area in Lake Para under PR Bari Police Station, South Tripura district. The operation, conducted on intelligence input and lasting more than two hours, uprooted the saplings before burning the residue at the site. The team comprised PR Bari Police, the 69 Battalion Border Security Force and Rajnagar Forest Department personnel. The operation was led by PR Bari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ratan Rabi Das. No arrests were made. Officials said similar operations would continue.
