BSF and Bishalgarh Police destroy 31,500 ganja plants on 15 acres at Gajeria and Ganiyamara

On Monday 18 December 2023, a Border Security Force-led joint operation destroyed approximately 31,500 immature cannabis plants in the general area of Gajeria village and Ganiyamara, under Bishalgarh Police Station, Sepahijala district. The operation cleared approximately 15 acres of cultivated forest land. BSF Tripura Frontier troops were joined by personnel from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Tripura State Rifles, Tripura Police and the Excise Department. Plants were destroyed by cutting, uprooting and burning at the site.
