Sidhai Police destroys 40,000 to 45,000 ganja plants on 14 plots at Arakata, West Tripura

On Sunday 17 December 2023, a Sidhai Police Station-led joint operation destroyed approximately 40,000 to 45,000 cannabis plants across 14 jungle plots at the Arakata area under Sidhai Police Station, West Tripura district. The operation was led by Sidhai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Bijoy Sen with personnel from the Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Forest Department. The destruction came three days after a 14 December 2023 attack on returning Tripura Police personnel at the nearby Sidhai Mohanpur village, in which four officers were injured.
