Filipino Kibungan 2021 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that Khalifa Genetics sells under the name Filipino Kibungan. Khalifa Genetics calls it a highland tropical sativa from the mountains of the north of the Philippines, and says that a local Filipino grower offered it the seed for reproduction and preservation.[1]
Geography
Khalifa Genetics says that the line comes from a remote, sparsely populated mountain area of the north of the Philippines, where local farmers grow small patches in secluded places, and where rain falls almost all year.[1]
Collection Details
Khalifa Genetics writes: "a local Filipino grower offered us these heirloom seeds for their reproduction and preservation."[1] The page was online by October 2021. ACE Seeds, which stocks the line, places its origin at Kibungan in the Philippines and labels its seed a second-generation pure sativa (P2) reproduced by open pollination.[2] The retailer Mr. Hanf sells the line's regular seed under the item number KHALI-8692 and names Khalifa Genetics the manufacturer.[3]
Cultivation Details
Khalifa Genetics calls the line easy to grow, fast-growing and mould-resistant, and quite cold-resistant for a tropical sativa. It says that the plants thrive in poor soil and also tolerate more fertile soils, and links the mould resistance to the region's rainfall and to the airy buds.[1] The Mr. Hanf listing puts the harvest in December.[3]
Botanical Characteristics
Khalifa Genetics describes a plant with much lateral branching that concentrates its energy on the tops during flowering and can produce long spears, with airy buds, some heavy colas, and stems that are often greasy and fruit-scented.[1]
Aroma
Khalifa Genetics calls the scent fruity, like sweet and creamy tropical fruit, with hazy and woody notes in some phenotypes, becoming a blend of sweet tropical fruit and spice during flowering. It says that the taste is woodier and spicier than the scent.[1]
Effects
Khalifa Genetics calls the effect uplifting and creative, and more relaxing when the plants are harvested late.[1]
