Royal Gendarmerie seizes 350 kg of kif from an underground store at Oulad Hamdane

A Royal Gendarmerie patrol from the Oulad Frej territorial centre was reported to have searched an underground storage vault near a suspect's home in the commune of Oulad Hamdane, in the Sidi Ismail circle of El Jadida province, on the evening of 26 August 2026. The search recovered 12 bundles of kif in tops form weighing 350 kilograms in total, together with 20 bundles of contraband tobacco weighing 76 kilograms, which the reports said had been prepared for resale. The principal suspect, described in the local report as having previous narcotics convictions, left before the gendarmes arrived and a national search notice was issued. On the instruction of the public prosecutor at the El Jadida court of first instance the seized goods were handed to the customs administration. The investigation was reported to be continuing.
