Kalamchoura Police destroys 3 lakh ganja plants at Manikyanagar in 3-day Sonamura operation

On Tuesday 30 July 2024, Kalamchoura Police Station personnel in joint operation with Tripura State Rifles and the Excise Department destroyed approximately 300,000 immature cannabis plants on government forest land in the Manikyanagar area of Sonamura sub-division, Sepahijala district. The operation was the third day of a coordinated three-day crackdown on illegal cannabis cultivation in the Boxanagar-Manikyanagar belt. The 30 July destruction was led by Kalamchoura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nadu Gopal Deb with Inspector Saikat Das, Sub-Inspector Biswajit Debbarma, Sub-Inspector Shanti Tripura and Tripura State Rifles personnel.
