Lutki was the name given in the Punjab to bhang taken in country liquor. The Indian Hemp Drugs Commission reported in 1894 that the hemp drugs were sometimes used "to doctor alcoholic drinks" and that in the Punjab the name lutki was given to such a concoction. It judged the practice probably rare.[1]: 157 Bhagwan Das, an assistant surgeon at Jhang, told the commission that some people in the Jhang district took bhang in country liquor and called it lutki.[2]: 431
