Identifier

The accession identifier is DCC-PAK-UNK-0120160001, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.

  • Holder segment DCC stands for the Derg Corra Collective.
  • Country segment PAK. The collective calls the line a wild Pakistani strain.
  • Province segment UNK. The description names only "a small village", with no name and no region.
  • Year 2016. No source gives a collection year. The identifier takes the year of the earliest dated listing of the line: SeedHeaven's shop software dates the creation of the listing to 6 June 2016, and a Wayback Machine copy of it at seedheaven.net is dated 24 October 2016. A listing can be recreated, so the year dates the page, not the seed.
  • Month 01 is a placeholder; no month is stated.

Sourcing

SeedHeaven's listing (https://seedheaven.org/product/aunt-of-farouk/, read on 8 October 2026 and again on 12 October 2026, unchanged) and SeedFinder's page for the line, whose text is headed "Derg Corra Collective Description" and matches the listing word for word. Everything about the line is the collective's own account and is attributed to it.

Typing

  • Classification: Landrace. The collective's description says that Farouk collected the seed in a small village behind his aunt and uncle's house, and that his uncle said only that they sow, harvest and smoke. That places the source of the seed with a village crop. The collective also calls the line a "Wild Pakistani strain"; the account of sowing and harvest is the more specific statement and is the one followed. The accession is classified Landrace, by inference from the collective's account, which names neither the village nor the region. The account has not been checked against other sources. An earlier version of this note classified the line as Other, on the ground that a seller's description does not establish the class of the source population.
  • Accession type: Reproduction. The listing says the seeds "were made with open pollination", so the seed on sale is a reproduction, not the seed Farouk collected. The pollination type is entered for the same reason.
  • Sourcing type is empty: the description does not say how many generations lie between the collected seed and the seed on sale.
  • Parent accession is empty: the seed the reproduction was made from is not an accession on the wiki.
  • Flowering time and aroma are the listing's figures.

Georeferencing

No point is given. The seed on sale is the collective's reproduction, grown from the collected seed at a place no source names, and the only place the description gives below the country is "a small village", unnamed.

The Landrace Team's listing

The Landrace Team also sells the line, under the name "AOF (Aunt of Faouk)" (https://www.tltseeds.com/aof-aunt-of-faouk/, read on 8 and 12 October 2026). Its listing credits the collective: "These seeds were made possible thanks to the dedicated work of DergCorra Collective who saved this line and spread it around." It tells the origin differently: seed "collected by my friend since the 70's" at "his aunt and uncle's place near the indian and kashmir border". That border is not named in the collective's description. The Landrace Team's lot is not an accession on the wiki; added, it would be a separate accession of the same line. Forum posters' accounts of how The Landrace Team came to sell the line, and of the alias Wild Pakistan, are set out on Talk:The Landrace Team.

People

The description names, by first name or forum handle, the people who collected the seed or grew the reproduction. The article names none of them, as on Derg Corra Collective, except Farouk, whose name the line carries.

Conservation priority

Not rated. The description says nothing about the size or present state of the village's crop.
