Effect of Microwave and Oven Drying on the Phytochemical Profile and Bio-activities of Cannabis Sativa L. Seeds Aqueous Extract
Moroccan Journal of Chemistry
Compares oven and microwave drying of the seeds of two Cannabis sativa varieties, Beldia and Critical, collected in the contrasting Moroccan regions of Ketama and Taounate. HPLC identified 15 phenolic compounds, with 4-hydroxybenzoic and caffeic acids predominant, and microwave drying gave better extraction efficiency and better-preserved antioxidant and antimicrobial activity. The strongest activity was found in Critical seeds from Ketama. The authors add molecular docking and dynamics simulations of the main phenolic acids. This is seed chemistry tagged by locality.
