Genotype-dependent In Vitro Floral Induction and Reversion in Moroccan Cannabis sativa L. Varieties under Zeatin, Gibberellic Acid, and Thidiazuron Treatments
Trends in Sciences · 2026
Cultures the Moroccan varieties Beldia and Khardala in vitro with zeatin, gibberellic acid and thidiazuron to assess vegetative growth, floral induction and floral reversion, and finds clearly genotype-dependent responses. Floral induction under gibberellic acid reached 50% in Beldia and 42% in Khardala, while floral reversion was most pronounced in Khardala (75%). Rooting reached 95.8% in Beldia and 87.5% in Khardala on 1 mg per litre IBA, and survival after acclimatisation exceeded 94%.
