Highland Lao #7 General Population 2025 is a landrace cannabis accession from Bolikhamsai Province, Laos, listed as Highland Lao #7 in the seed catalogue of The Real Seed Company (RSC).[1] RSC classifies it as a Lao-Thai ganja landrace.[1]

Geography

RSC places the landrace in the jungles and highlands of Bolikhamsai, which it calls a crucial centre of production of "Thai" ganja. It gives a latitude of about 18° N.[1]

History

According to RSC, ganja is a traditional household plant in this region of Laos, particularly among lowland rice-farming communities of ethnic Tai such as the Lao.[1] RSC reports that the ganja fields along the Mekong expanded with Western demand for "Thai Stick" in the late 1960s, especially around Vientiane and Nakhon Phanom. It adds that inside Laos cultivation around towns such as Thakaek grew rapidly through the 1980s, after US-driven crackdowns across the Mekong in the ethnically Lao north of Isan.[1] According to RSC, most of this cultivation has since moved into the highlands of Bolikhamsai. It says the best ganja there is irrigated through a flowering stage timed to the dry weather from December to March.[1]

Collection Details

The listing gives the sourcing as The Real Seed Company, Laos (2025) and names no farmer or village.[1] The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[2] gives the same sourcing.[3]

Cultivation Details

RSC gives the purpose as ganja, which it glosses as seedless or lightly seeded buds. It gives the regional growing period as about five to six months from seed to harvest and lists greenhouse or outdoor growing.[1]

Botanical Characteristics

RSC gives a height of up to about 4 metres and a Sativa-type architecture.[1] According to RSC, the listing's photograph shows an inflorescence of this accession grown outdoors in California.[1] RSC had published the same photograph on 7 July 2026 as one of its Bolikhamsai accessions, Highland Lao #4, grown outdoors in California.[4] [disputed]

Aroma

RSC describes rich, intense aromas.[1]

Effects

RSC describes a stimulating, euphoric and luminous high. It says the effects are strongly euphoric and range from intensely stimulating to trippy and psychedelic.[1]
