2019 RSC Kandahar Reproduction is seed grown ex situ from Kandahar General Population 2019, a cannabis landrace collected outside Kandahar in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, in 2019. It is the seed The Real Seed Company (RSC) sells under the listing Kandahar.[1]

Production

RSC states that the landrace was collected in 2019 and then maintained ex situ, and that the seeds on sale are a reproduction of the original 2019 accession.[1] The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[2] gives the same account.[3] Every archived version of the RSC listing, from the earliest of 16 April 2021, describes the seed the same way.[4] Neither listing says where or in which year the reproduction was grown, or how many generations have been grown, so no sourcing type is entered.

Both listings report viability tested at 100 per cent and advise allowing up to two weeks for seedlings to appear.[1][3] In a powdery mildew resistance test reported on its blog in February 2025, RSC counted Kandahar among the excellent performers.[5]

Source accession

The collection was made outside Kandahar in 2019 and is credited to Landrace Genetics.[1] Its geography, history and the cultivation details RSC gives are at Kandahar General Population 2019.
