Purnadhi legiyam is a preparation of ganja recorded in the Madras Presidency. The ganja was washed several times in hot water, dried and powdered, then mixed with ghee, sugar, dry ginger, pepper and spices. L. C. Miller, the acting collector of Trichinopoly, called it purnadi legiyam and listed it in 1893 among the ganja preparations eaten in his district, in his evidence to the Indian Hemp Drugs Commission.[1]: 190
In 1957 I. C. and R. N. Chopra gave the same description among the special ganja preparations of Madras. They listed it separately from purnadhi, a confection of ganja pounded with many spices, ghee and sugar and heated to a thick jelly.[2]
