Police and PDEA uproot and burn about 3,000 marijuana plants at Licungan in Sugpon on the Benguet boundary

The Daily Tribune reported, citing the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office, that police units and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1 uprooted and burned about 3,000 fully grown marijuana plants on 27 September 2026. According to the report, the plantation covered about 1,000 square metres at the boundary of Sitio Ogiyet in Barangay Licungan, Sugpon, and Barangay Tacadang in Kibungan, Benguet. The authorities valued the plants at an estimated P600,000. No arrests were reported.
