Kalamchoura Police destroys 5.5 lakh ganja plants on 48 plots in Sonamura

On Tuesday 2 December 2025, a Kalamchoura Police Station-led joint operation destroyed approximately 550,000 pre-matured cannabis plants across 48 plots in the North Kalamchoura, Pasania and Takkamura Tila forest areas of Sonamura sub-division, Sepahijala district. The operation ran from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. Personnel from Kalamchoura Police Station, the Tripura State Rifles (men and women battalions), the Central Reserve Police Force and the Forest Department participated, led by the Officer-in-Charge of Kalamchoura Police Station.
