Assam Rifles destroy 16,500 ganja plants on 16.2 hectares at Boxanagar Forest Range

On Thursday 9 January 2025, an Assam Rifles-led joint operation with Tripura Police and the Tripura Forest Service destroyed approximately 16,500 cannabis plants spread across 16.2 hectares in the Boxanagar Forest Range under Anandnagar Police Station area, Sonamura sub-division, Sepahijala district. Officials estimated the destroyed material at approximately ₹70 lakh.
