Kari sie itek is a curry of duck (itek) from Aceh. Indonesia's tourism ministry describes Aceh's duck dishes, under the name kuah sie itek, as cooked with curry leaves and pandan leaves tied to each piece of duck and, it says, between 12 and 20 spices.[2]

In January 2020 Syardani M. Syarif, a commentator on cannabis from Aceh, told a discussion at Kamp Biawak in Aceh Besar that kari sie itek was among the Acehnese dishes often cooked with cannabis seed, together with kuah beulangong and ie bu peudah. He said the practice went back to "nenek buyut kita" (our great-grandparents) and that the seed was now seldom used because the law had grown strict.[1]
