Eastern Manipur-Burma 2020 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that the Indian Landrace Exchange lists in its genetic library as Eastern Manipur-Burma. The group describes it as a domesticated heirloom from a farm near the border of Manipur with Myanmar, grown by people of the Tangkhul tribe.[1] The online shop Full Power Selections, which sells the group's books and many of its lines, lists it as Eastern Manipur-Burma Border (EMBB), in stock when checked on 21 October 2026.[2]
Geography
The entry places the farm at about 25.09° N, 94.36° E and about 1,500 metres above sea level, in hilly country with wide alluvial valleys. It says that the Tangkhul grow cannabis for the market around Ukhrul district, which borders Myanmar.[1]
Cultivation Details
According to the group, the farmers there sow cannabis through the year: a main crop sown in spring that grows to 10 or 11 feet and is harvested at the end of January, a late crop sown in July or August, and a small winter crop. It reports that farm-gate prices are below $10 a kilogram, so that the farmers plant all year to sell more.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
The entry describes plants with heavy side branching, green leaves and bracts streaked with purple and blue, a uniform smell of dried berries and date paste, and a flowering time of 16 weeks or more, with some plants finishing at 14 to 15 weeks. The group says that it made a few selections at the farm and sampled resin from a stick used at the farm to beat the crop.[1]
History
A member of the growers' forum Rollitup reported growing the group's "Manipur (East Manipur/Burma)" line in December 2020.[3]
