Mae Taeng is a historical cannabis growing area in Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, in the Northern Thailand growing region. Two herbarium sheets of 1997 show cannabis planted among corn near Pah Dang, a Red Lahu village.[1]
Geography
The plants grew near Pah Dang, in Geut Chang subdistrict, at 1,125 m, in an open field in degraded evergreen hardwood and bamboo forest on limestone.[1]
Cultivation
J. F. Maxwell collected plants there on 30 July 1997. One, a male, was a branching herb 2 m tall growing in an open field, "planted among corn".[1]
