Liti is a landrace cannabis appellation in the Pindar Valley growing area, in the Western Himalayas growing region of Uttarakhand, India. It covers the villages of Liti and Sama, in Shama, where two accessions were collected at 2,200 m.
Geography
Both accessions share one point at 2,200 m, about 14 km south-east of Khati, and both are in the sub-block of Shama. OpenStreetMap places the point in Kapkot Block of Bageshwar District, the block that the Pindar Valley growing area covers.
Cultivation
Both accessions are landrace general populations, one named for each village. Both describe active cultivation that is widespread in the region, broadcast-sown in May and June and harvested from September to November, from seed kept from locally grown flower, for several uses. The plots mix monoculture, intercropping, rotation and semi-feral growth.
Isabella and Roy collected seed from both on 8 October 2025, on the UTT01 expedition. The Liti sample is from the 2025 harvest and the Sama sample from 2024.
