Page type

  • Until October 2026 this page was the growing area Liti Valley. It is now an appellation in the Pindar Valley growing area: the Liti point lies in Kapkot Block, which the Pindar Valley border follows, and the catchment drawn for Liti lies wholly inside that border. Liti Valley redirects here.

District

  • No district on the accessions. Both accessions give the division (Kumaon) and the sub-block (Shama) but no district. OpenStreetMap places their shared point in Kapkot Block of Bageshwar District, so the infobox leaves the district empty and the article gives the OpenStreetMap reading.
  • Spellings. The village is Sama on the accession page and its name; the sub-block is spelled Shama.

How the border is drawn

  • The border is the catchment of the stream at Liti above its junction at about 30.008 N, 80.065 E, from SRTM elevation data (AWS Terrain Tiles). Where the catchment comes within 3 km of the Pindar Valley border, it is taken out to that border, so the two share one line there. It is about 28 km², the figure in the infobox, and lies inside the Pindar Valley border.
  • The border is not drawn from the accession point.
