Yeshoda 490 (1932) is an accession record for a pressed herbarium specimen of Cannabis sativa collected by Mrs. Kanoth Yeshoda at Hosur, then in Salem District, in 1932. Hosur is now in Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu, India.[1] The New York Botanical Garden holds the sheet as catalogue 1414436.[2] GBIF publishes it as occurrence 1930857743.[3]
Collection and locality
Yeshoda's Plants of S. India label records Hosur in Salem District, an altitude of 3,000 feet, collection number 490 and the date 2.8.32.[4] The stated altitude converts to approximately 914 m and is stored in the infobox. Current Tamil Nadu government records place Hosur in Krishnagiri District.[1]
Specimen and identification
The sheet mounts fruiting material and carries the name Cannabis sativa L.[4] In August 1975, Ernest Small determined it as Cannabis sativa subsp. indica (Lam.) E.Small & Cronquist, the name under which GBIF publishes the occurrence.[4][3]
