Evidentiary scope
This sheet documents an experimental growing, not a field. The locality names the agricultural institute at Maison-Carrée and the seed's origin in the Sahara and the event note says the plant was raised under shaded glass. What it establishes is that in 1942 the institute near Algiers had Saharan cannabis seed and grew it. It does not establish a Saharan stand, a Saharan crop or a Saharan variety, because it names no place in the Sahara. It is classified Other. No conservation priority is assigned.
The seed origin is the reason to keep this accession despite its artificial growing conditions. It is the one statement in the Algerian series that ties Saharan material to a named institution and an institute that grew out Saharan seed in 1942 may well have left a note of where the seed came from and why it was wanted.
Georeferencing
Two places could be stored. The infobox stores the growing site, Maison-Carrée, now El Harrach in Algiers Province, because that is where the plant on the sheet actually grew and where the collection event happened. The Sahara is a region and not a locality. Storing it would make the accession answer queries for Saharan sites that it cannot support.
No coordinate or elevation is asserted. The institute is a named establishment and not a point. The catalogue carries no altitude.
The label has not been read
An image of this sheet is published with the GBIF occurrence, but `mediaphoto.mnhn.fr` and `science.mnhn.fr` both sit behind a bot check that refuses automated requests. The article rests on the catalogue's own transcription, republished through GBIF and not on a reading of the sheet. The seed origin is the first thing to check against the label when it can be read: a sheet label of this kind often names a supplier, an accession number in the institute's own series or a Saharan place and any of those would change what this accession can support.
Editorial treatment
The collector is given as Pasquier, R. and is not in the International Plant Names Index, so no dates are available and no lifespan test could be run. A Papaver pasquieri stands in the index, which is consistent with a botanist active in this region, but a species epithet is not a biography and the article does not use it.
Faurel s.n., Maison-Carrée (1930) is the other Maison-Carrée sheet, from uncultivated ground by the dunes twelve years earlier.
