Rovira is a cannabis appellation in the Tolima growing area, covering the municipality of Rovira in the department of Tolima, Colombia.
Cultivation
The Ministry of Defence's eradication data list 11 entries of marijuana eradicated in Rovira between May 2009 and August 2015, about 25 hectares. One entry, in July 2010, is nine hectares, and five entries between late October and late November 2011 add up to seven hectares.[1]
In November 2017 the police stopped a lorry on the road from Ibagué to Rovira carrying 737 kilograms of marijuana of the type they called cripy, in 327 packages hidden under 63 sacks of chicken manure. The police said the load came from a rural part of Rovira and was bound for Ibagué.[2] A bulletin of the Centre for Regional Studies of the University of Tolima took the high seizure figures in Roncesvalles, San Antonio, Rovira and Cajamarca to indicate that these municipalities were used to move marijuana from the west of the country to Ibagué.[3]: 31
