Estudio del contenido de canabinoides en muestras de marihuana (Cannabis sativa L.) cultivadas en varias regiones de Colombia
Vitae
A chemical survey of the cannabinoid content of marijuana grown in four Colombian regions. The authors analysed leaf samples from Lejanías in Meta (Llanos Orientales), Corinto in Cauca, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and rural Riosucio in Caldas (Eje Cafetero). Mean THC in the leaf was 15.74% in the Llanos, 10.98% in Cauca, 2.81% in the Sierra Nevada and 1.87% in the Eje Cafetero. The authors suggest that the high values in the Llanos and Cauca could indicate improved varieties. Their introduction cites Colombian police as saying that 95% of the marijuana produced in the country is for domestic use, with seizures of Colombian marijuana abroad rising, mainly towards Central America. The analysis was of leaf, not flower, so the figures are not comparable with flower potency reports.
