Ensayo sobre la historia del tráfico de drogas psicoactivas en Colombia entre los años 30 y 50
Iberoamericana
An essay on the history of trafficking in psychoactive drugs in Colombia from the 1930s to the 1950s. The author notes that Colombia imported its medical narcotics and had acceded to the 1912, 1925 and 1931 opium conventions, and reports a 1933 League of Nations report of drug trafficking in Barranquilla, Cartagena and Santa Marta. He names sailors, customs officers and pharmacists as the trade's precursors, and a footnote records that poor people on the coast and inland grew and used marijuana from the 1930s. Marijuana appears only briefly, in the closing pages.
