Waziri General Population 2019 is a landrace cannabis accession of seed bought at the charas bazaar of Toi Khullah, in South Waziristan, Pakistan, where, according to The Real Seed Company (RSC), all the local farmers obtain their seeds. RSC lists the line as Waziri.[1] It credits the sourcing to Kushman and first offered the seed in October 2019.[2][3] Since June 2023 it has sold seed from a reproduction grown in northern Spain, which is recorded at 2019 RSC Waziri Reproduction.[4]
Geography
RSC gives a latitude of 32° N. It describes South Waziristan as a Pashtun tribal region of the Pakistani Hindu Kush that borders the Khost and Paktika provinces of Afghanistan.[1]
History
Announcing the line together with Tora Bora in October 2019, RSC described both as from the tribal frontier regions of the Afghan–Pakistan border, compact and early maturing, tending toward Indica-type morphology, and credited them to "the intrepid work of Kushman".[3]
Collection Details
The listing gives the sourcing as "Kushman, South Waziristan, Pakistani Hindu Kush". Its earliest archived versions, of October and December 2019, read "Personally collected at source in South Waziristan, Pakistani Hindu Kush".[1][2] Every version says that the seeds were sourced in Toi Khullah at the charas bazaar, where all local farmers obtain their seeds.[1] The listing names no village, farmer or year of harvest.[1]
Cultivation Details
RSC gives the purpose as charas (sieved resin) and the harvest as late September to October, and lists outdoor, greenhouse or indoor growing.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
RSC gives a height of up to 2 metres outdoors and describes strong, squat, compact Indica-type plants adapted to a dry climate, with aromas from citrus to earthy forest "kush". It writes that the hashish has a predominantly cerebral effect followed by a sleepy quality on the comedown, and lists CBD among the line's characteristics.[1] The listing describes plants of the reproduction RSC sells.[1]
