Kashmiri Reproduction 2020 is a landrace cannabis accession from Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, listed as Kashmiri in the seed catalogue of The Real Seed Company (RSC).[1] RSC describes the seed on sale as newly produced from an ex situ maintenance grow of an accession collected in Pakistani Kashmir.[1]

The listing gives the sourcing as Landrace Genetics, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan (2020), and a latitude of about 33° N.[1]
History
An RSC blog post of June 2023, published because seed of a Kashmiri landrace had become available, reports that Kashmiri cannabis earned a legendary reputation among Westerners in the heyday of the Hippie Trail, mostly for the dry-sieved and hand-rubbed charas travellers found in the Kashmir Valley.[2] According to the post, Kashmir was historically less a producer than an intermediary in the charas trade between Central Asia and northern India. It describes caravans bringing charas from Xinjiang over the passes of the Karakoram via Ladakh, then on to the plains through Srinagar and the Kullu Valley. The post calls Kashmir today a relatively minor player in cannabis production.[2]
Collection Details
RSC states that the seeds on sale are newly produced from an ex situ maintenance grow of the accession, and that tests show germination close to 100 per cent.[1] The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[3] gives the same sourcing and account and says further details are forthcoming.[4] Neither listing names a district, village or farmer.
Cultivation Details
RSC gives the purposes as sieved charas and bhang and the harvest as October. It lists outdoor, greenhouse or indoor growing.[1] RSC files the line under CBD, a category it describes as high-CBD cannabis landraces.[5]
