2015 RSC Kerala Third-generation Reproduction is seed from a 2022 maintenance grow of the Kerala landrace collected in Idukki District, India, in 2015. It is the third generation from that collection and the seed The Real Seed Company (RSC) has sold under the listing Kerala since June 2023.[1][2]
Production
RSC states that the seeds come from a 2022 maintenance grow of the 2015 accession and are the third generation from it, reproduced ex situ through open pollination.[1] The third-generation wording first appears in the archived version of 9 June 2023, and the 2022 maintenance grow is named from 17 April 2024.[2][3] RSC does not say where the grow was made.
The generation before it, which RSC sold from 2019 and Kwik Seeds still sells, is 2015 RSC Kerala Second-generation Reproduction.[4][5]
Source accession
The collection was made in Idukki District in 2015.[1] Its geography, history, cultivation details and botanical description are at Kerala General Population 2015. An RSC blog post of August 2023 shows a customer's plant grown indoors from this seed.[6]
