Balkhi General Population 2018 is a landrace cannabis accession collected in 2018 in Balkh Province, northern Afghanistan. It was the stock The Real Seed Company (RSC) sold under the listing Balkhi until the 2019 collection replaced it.[1][2]
Collection Details
The listing gave the sourcing as personally sourced by Landrace Genetics in Balkh, northern Afghanistan (2018), and a latitude of about 36° N.[1] That line stood in the archived versions of 19 August, 22 October and 12 December 2019; from the version of 5 August 2020 the listing gave the 2019 collection instead.[3][2] The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[4] still dates its sourcing to 2018.[5] Neither names a district, village or farmer.
Botanical Characteristics
While this stock was on sale the listing gave a height of 1 to 3 metres and the characteristics "intense aromas, heavy branching, medium leaflet width".[1] It described a resinous and heavily branched landrace with aromas ranging from citrus and lime to pine, sandalwood and burnt rubber, and reported semi-dwarf expressions with almost spherical architecture and leaflet width varying from broad to narrow.[1] RSC classified the line then as a pure Afghan landrace strain.[1]
Cultivation Details
RSC gave the purpose as charas (sieved) and the harvest as October.[1]
