Plowman s.n., Easton is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected on 17 June 1974 along a road below a hill prairie south of Easton, in Mason County, Illinois, United States, by Timothy Plowman, with C. J. Sheviak as co-collector on one sheet. Two sheets are held in the Economic Botany Herbarium of the Harvard University Herbaria and one by the National Museum of Natural History (US).[1][2][3]
Collection and locality
Harvard's index gives the locality of both its sheets as Along road below Reavis Spring Hill Prairie, south of Easton, in Mason County, and the date as 17 June 1974, with Plowman as collector and the number s.n..[1][2] The Smithsonian's catalogue has Below Reavis Spring Hill Prairie, S of Easton, the same date and the number s.n., and credits the gathering to T. Plowman and C. J. Sheviak.[3]
Specimen and identification
On 16 February 1976 Ernest Small determined both Harvard sheets as Cannabis sativa L., the name under which Harvard files them; the Smithsonian files its sheet under the same name.[1][2][3]
