The Nirang population is the cannabis of Nirang, the trailhead settlement at the entrance to Malana, and of the older village of Bhutoling 300 m above it, in the Nirang appellation, in the Malana Valley growing area of Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh, India.[1] The Zomia Collective's collection documentation classes it as a narrow-leaflet drug-type landrace population grown in terraced fields, in wild patches along the river and in high plots near the Rasol Pass. In its account, traders and buyers of charas often deal at the trailhead rather than walk into Malana.[1]

Accessions

Five accessions were collected at Nirang under the expedition code HIMA01: the general population, selections from Bhutoling and the Top fields, a selection of black-coloured plants and a feral selection.
