Customs and PDEA find 4.7 kg of high-grade marijuana in personal-effects boxes from Canada in Pasay

Philstar reported that the Bureau of Customs and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency inspected 15 boxes shipped from Canada and declared as personal effects at a warehouse in Pasay City on 14 September 2026, after X-ray screening flagged them. According to the bureau's statement, one box held about 4,746 grams of suspected high-grade marijuana, which it described as kush and valued at 7.119 million pesos. The same shipment contained about 28 kg of suspected methamphetamine and textiles suspected of being soaked in liquid methamphetamine, and the bureau put the value of the whole consignment at more than 199.7 million pesos. Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno led the inspection. No consignee or arrests were reported.
