Chattogram range police report 34.3 kg of cannabis seized in a 24 hour anti-drug drive

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that police across eleven districts of Chattogram division arrested 524 people during a 24 hour special anti-drug drive and filed 37 drug related cases. Seizures reported included 34.314 kilogrammes of cannabis, 62,932 yaba tablets, 107 tapentadol tablets and quantities of foreign and locally produced liquor. Mobile courts sentenced 87 people during the same period with fines totalling 9,900 taka. The arrest total covers regular cases, previous cases and detentions under general police powers and is not broken down by substance, so it cannot be attributed to cannabis.
